The JLCS established the Japan Lung Cancer Awareness Committee in November 2013. The aims of this committee’s activities are to promote the prevention of lung cancer and the improvement of diagnosis and treatment outcomes by strengthening the collaboration between all parties involved in the treatment of lung cancer. These include scientific organizations, patient support organizations in the cancer field, clinical trial groups, pharmaceutical companies, testing companies, and media organizations. Primarily, it organizes and runs seminars for medical professionals, provides the latest information about lung cancer to pharmaceutical companies, testing companies, and media organizations, and organizes and runs seminars about medical care for healthcare professionals.
